Danielle and her husband, Justin, began their animal rescue journey fostering animals in 2014. During that time they have helped over 100 animals find furever homes. After making many transport trips down to TN and GA they decided to start Lucky Paws to reach out to more animals in need of help. Danielle and Justin donated a motorhome to Lucky Paws to aid in the transport of multiple animals in a calm, low-stress environment. Lucky Paws quickly outgrew the motorhome unit and now can transport over 60 animals in a fully temperature-controlled unit.
We are constantly in need of training pads, stainless steel bowls, collars, leashes, harnesses, food, plastic or metal crates, blankets, towels, bleach, and flea & tick topicals.
We appreciate any and all donations!
Without others, we would not be able to accomplish our mission. If you are interested in helping with transport, donation pick up/drop off or you are affiliated with a rescue group looking to partner with us, please feel free to reach out below.
Lucky Paws was grateful enough to be the recipient of Athletes for Animals 2022 Grant for their spay and neuter program. This program provided spay and neuter surgeries to 18 dogs in overpopulated shelters located in Middle TN. We were then able to place them into rescue groups here in the northeast via our efforts and transportation. These animals may not have been selected had the receiving rescues had to pay to alter the animal after arrival. Being able to provide these services was truly a life saver and prevents future unwanted animals!!
Below are different ways to become part of our mission and help our efforts. If you are interested in joining us, please click on the link below to fill out our application.
Some months we need help loading up supplies to take down to TN the week before transport, like the food. If we have a lot of crates on board, we also need help lining them with 2 layers of training pads and blankets and placing water bowls in each crate. That way when we are in TN we can quickly unload supplies at our stops and load up our precious cargo.
Every month we need volunteers to help us unload and clean the rig at arrival on Sunday at 9am in South Jersey. We unload the puppers and hand them off to their receiving rescue groups and then fully dismantle all the crates, clean and disinfect them along with the trailer. It is exhausting after driving through the night but it is so nice to have the help and finish the job together.
There are times when we are looking for volunteers to go on trips to TN for our monthly transports. If you are interested in going we have dates lined up throughout the year. You must be comfortable driving a pickup truck and trailer and you do need to have some experience volunteering with us. We leave on Friday at 5am sharp and arrive back home in South Jersey at 9am Sunday.
We have volunteer needs for our “Wag through the Pines” event each spring. That is our 1-mile walk and 5-mile walk/run event with your pet at Hospitality Creek Campground. Usually, in mid-January our website goes live for this event and you can sign up directly on there.
Throughout the year we participate in different events at different shelters or local craft shows to share our story and sell items to benefit our efforts. We could also use help with an event we plan on attending.

I am affiliated with a rescue group in the Northeast and we are looking to partner up and help rescue more animals in need.
